Flädie Mat & Vingård is located just outside Lund in the village of Flädie. It is one of Sweden’s pioneering vineyard destinations, seamlessly combining viticulture with gastronomy and hospitality. Established in the early 2000s, the estate spans several hectares of vines and is known for producing elegant Swedish wines alongside offering a full service restaurant, boutique hotel, and event facilities.

Grape Varieties and Winemaking
The vineyard cultivates primarily Solaris, a grape well suited to Sweden’s cool climate, known for producing crisp white wines with vibrant acidity and fruit forward character. Other experimental plantings, including red hybrids, are sometimes trialed on the estate. Flädie’s winemaking philosophy is rooted in showcasing the unique terroir of Skåne, emphasizing freshness, balance, and a modern Scandinavian approach to wine.

Experiences Offered
Wine Tastings & Tours: Guests can explore the vineyard and cellar, guided by knowledgeable hosts who explain both the history of Swedish winemaking. Tastings often include both still and sparkling Solaris based wines.
Restaurant: Flädie’s on site restaurant is highly regarded for its seasonal menus that pair Swedish ingredients with estate wines. The kitchen emphasizes locally sourced produce and a fine dining experience in a relaxed countryside setting.
Hotel & Retreats: The estate also operates a small hotel, making it a popular destination for wine weekends, weddings, and corporate retreats. Guests enjoy vineyard views, landscaped gardens, and proximity to Lund and Malmö.
Conferences & Events: With modern facilities, Flädie is a sought after venue for conferences, weddings, and celebrations, offering a combination of gastronomy, wine, and Scandinavian hospitality.

Wines Offered
Flädie’s portfolio is centered around Solaris, often vinified in several expressions:
Flädie Solaris: Crisp and aromatic white wine showcasing the grape’s full potential.
Sparkling Solaris: Traditional method sparkling wines that highlight freshness and elegance.
Special Cuvées: Occasionally, limited edition blends or barrel aged Solaris wines are produced, available directly at the estate or through Systembolaget.

Flädie Mat & Vingård

I had a wonderful weekend at Flädie Mat & Vingård. The setting is beautiful. Vineyards stretching out around the old farmhouse buildings, and you really feel tucked away in the countryside even though Lund and Malmö are so close. The wine tasting was informative without being too formal. Dinner at the restaurant was definitely a highlight. Creative dishes that paired really well with the estate wines. The staff were attentive and friendly, though service was a little slow at times when the dining room got busy. Our room in the hotel was charming and comfortable, with lovely views over the vines. Overall, Flädie strikes a great balance between a wine experience and a small countryside retreat. It’s not quite perfect, but I’d happily come back and recommend it to anyone looking for a Swedish vineyard escape.
