Vinmonopolet Kristiansand – Courses and Tastings
Vinmonopolet Kristiansand offers a spring programme of educational tasting courses in Kristiansand for those who want to deepen their understanding of wine through guided and structured tastings. The courses are led by Vinmonopolet’s own trained experts and are designed to be approachable, informative and enjoyable, even for participants without prior experience.
From February to May 2026, four courses will be held in Kristiansand. All courses last two hours, from 18:00 to 20:00, and take place at Torvet Bistro.
Each course includes tastings of five carefully selected products, chosen to illustrate the theme in a clear and educational way.

Learn to taste red wine
This course provides a clear and practical introduction to the world of red wine. You will learn how elements such as fruit character, acidity, tannins and body shape the style and structure of red wine. Through guided tasting, you will practise recognising different expressions and gain tools to better describe what you taste. The course is ideal for those who want a solid foundation before exploring red wine in greater depth.

Learn to taste white wine
White wine offers a wide range of styles, from fresh and light to rich and complex. In this course, you will learn how sweetness, acidity, aroma and texture interact to create balance and character. We focus on basic tasting technique and explore how grape varieties and production methods influence the final wine. After the course, you will have a stronger understanding of white wine and greater confidence in choosing wines that suit your preferences.

Get to know Germany
Germany is best known for riesling, but its wine culture is far more diverse than many realise. This course introduces German wine production and explains why the country is regarded as one of the world’s leading producers of precise and expressive wines. We taste wines in different styles and discuss climate, vineyards and classification systems, as well as how sweetness and acidity work together in German wines.

Small and large houses in Champagne
Champagne represents both tradition and diversity. In this course, we compare champagnes from well-known producers with wines from smaller, more artisanal houses. You will learn how producer philosophy, ageing and production choices influence style and quality. The course provides valuable insight into why champagnes can vary significantly in both flavour and price.

Registration is binding and tickets cannot be refunded or transferred to another course or date. Please ensure that you have selected the correct course, location and date before completing your booking.
Participants must be 18 years or older for wine courses and 20 years or older for spirits courses. Valid identification must be presented upon request. If age cannot be verified, participation may be denied without refund.
