Glenholm Vingard sits on a sunny slope overlooking the Limfjord in Northern Jutland. Established by the family in 1993, it is one of the earliest commercial vineyards in Denmark. The cool maritime climate combined with sheltered terrain creates good conditions for cold climate viticulture.

What You Can Do

Guests can walk through the two hectare field of vines, following informational signs about Northern European grape varieties. Guided tours run throughout the summer, explaining planting techniques, vine training, and seasonal harvesting. Indoor cellar visits show stainless steel tanks, oak barrels, and bottling equipment. Wine tastings include selections of estate grown white, rosé, red, and sparkling bottles.

What They Offer

The vineyard produces wines from grape varieties such as Solaris, Orion, and Rondo. The property includes a covered patio, a wine shop selling estate vintages and regional products, and a small vacation apartment available for short term stays. Regular events include harvest days where guests can watch grapes being processed.

Activities

Visitors can explore the landscaped garden, enjoy views of the water, or walk down to the shores of the Limfjord. The surrounding region offers cycling trails, bird watching spots, and quiet coastal landscapes. Guests can also participate in seasonal pruning or harvesting workshops when available.

Food to Eat

The on site café serves light dishes, cheese platters, and charcuterie featuring regional ingredients. Freshly baked bread and local condiments complement the distinct acidity of the Solaris white wines and light bodied Rondo red wines. Simple picnic baskets are also available to take into the vineyard.

Why Visit

Glenholm Vingard offers an honest presentation of Scandinavian viticulture rooted in family craft. It provides a calm setting to sample Northern Danish wines while enjoying scenic fjord views.

The property feels welcoming and authentic, with passionate hosts who know their craft well. The café space gets somewhat busy during weekend peak hours, which can slow down service slightly. Even so, sitting outside with a glass of crisp white wine while looking across the Limfjord makes for an exceptional visit.
