Vinmonopolet Drammen – Courses and Tastings
Vinmonopolet offers a small series of guided tasting courses in Drammen, designed to combine structured learning with sensory exploration. The courses are led by Vinmonopolet’s trained experts and focus on understanding style, origin and tasting technique through carefully selected examples.
From February to April 2026, four courses are held in Drammen. All courses last two hours, from 18:00 to 20:00, and take place at Home Hotel Tollboden.
Each course includes tastings of five selected products and provides a calm, educational setting for both curious enthusiasts and more experienced participants.
Course level
Some prior knowledge may be helpful, but it is not required. The courses are suitable for anyone with an interest in wine who wants to deepen their understanding through guided tasting.

Learn to taste red wine
This course focuses on developing your ability to taste and understand red wine. Through guided tasting, you will learn how factors such as grape variety, acidity, tannins and body influence a wine’s character. The session also introduces basic tasting technique and helps you recognise different styles and expressions, making it a solid foundation for further exploration.

Red wine from Bordeaux
Join us on a two-hour journey into one of the world’s most famous wine regions. During this course, you will taste five different red wines from Bordeaux and learn about the region’s appellations, grape blends and winemaking traditions. You will also receive a tasting booklet to record your notes and impressions as you explore classic Bordeaux styles.

Get to know Chablis
Chablis is known for its crisp, mineral-driven white wines and its distinctive expression of Chardonnay. In this course, you will explore why Chablis holds such a strong position in the wine world. Through guided tasting, we look at how climate, soil and winemaking shape wines from this prestigious northern part of Burgundy.

Sparkling wine
This course introduces different styles of sparkling wine and the methods used to produce them. You will learn about the differences between Prosecco, Cava and Champagne, what creates bubbles in wine, and how production methods influence flavour and quality. The tasting also explores how sparkling wines can be paired with food.

Registration is binding, and tickets cannot be refunded or transferred to another course or date. Please ensure that you have selected the correct course, location and date before completing your booking.
Participants must be 18 years or older to attend wine courses and 20 years or older for spirits courses. Valid identification must be presented upon request. If age cannot be verified, participation may be denied without refund.
